Silence Detector for silence monitoring and backup programming

Prepare silence alerts and a fallback procedure in advance.

Silence Detector monitors selected levels from a supported mixer and reacts when specified channels remain below the threshold long enough. A prepared response can start backup Playout, load an available queue mirror, set faders and notify the team. It forms part of monitoring live, overnight and AI-presented programming.

Silence Detector: channels, silence threshold and duration, and response steps; native window using a separate, cleaned settings copy.

SPECIFIC CAPABILITIES

What you can do.

01

Silence defined by your rules

Choose the main output or individual channels, a threshold and required silence duration. Separate signal-recovery and pause rules limit repetition of the same automatic response during operation.

02

A copy of the main queue

A backup computer can read a saved mirror of a specified main Playout. The preview shows the source, timestamp and item count, while access to the corresponding audio files is prepared in advance.

03

Backup Playout in AUTO

The prepared response can start or restart local Playout, load its state and send an AUTO command. Separate system settings determine behaviour when the copy is unavailable.

04

Prepared fader positions

Specify which selected channels should be lowered or raised during the response. This prepares the control part of switching to a backup source with appropriate studio wiring.

05

Team notifications

Alongside local notifications, configure email, Telegram, WhatsApp, push, webhooks or SMS through supported services. Define access and the recorded-event message for each channel.

AN EVERYDAY EXAMPLE

How would this work
at your station?

Select the monitored signal, threshold and silence duration. On the backup computer, prepare song access, the queue mirror, AUTO, fader positions and notifications. Check the entire agreed transition, then enable the detector according to the station's workflow.
